Maryam Sullivan

Sr. Maryam Sullivan brings over 17 years of experience in education to Ar Rahmah School. She holds two Master’s degrees with honors as well as a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership. Her extensive background spans classroom teaching, instructional coaching, and school leadership in both U.S. public schools, private schools, and international settings. Over the course of her career, she has worked to support multilingual learners, students with special needs, and school-wide academic improvement through data-driven instruction and meaningful professional development.

Beyond her academic and professional credentials, Sr. Maryam is also a published author, literacy advocate, and founder of Muslim Girls Read Inc., a nonprofit initiative promoting Islamic literacy and representation for Muslim youth. Her books, including The Size of a Mustard Seed and Hind’s Hands, have been celebrated for their authentic portrayals of Muslim life. As a workshop presenter and educational consultant, she has led sessions for educators, parents, and students nationwide on literacy, identity, and academic equity. Her deep love for the American Muslim community, commitment to Islamic values, and passion for raising up the next generation of leaders make her an inspiring addition to the Ar Rahmah School family.
