On Monday, January 6, 2020, we kicked off our annual ARS Ansar Program. Br Naveed Ahmed from Helping Hand spoke to the students about the importance of sponsoring an orphan and showed a video of how our donations are helping orphans. As quoted by Br. Naveed, ” Last year ARS students/teachers and community-sponsored 20 orphans with Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD).
This year the hope and goal to go even higher. The students are ready to take the challenge in this new decade of 2020″ Our goal this year is to continue supporting a year’s worth of health care, and educational expenses for our 20 Ansars plus a few more. Please join us by sending in donations with your child and speaking with them about the importance of helping those in need, for the sake of Allah.
Additionally, we will be hosting a schoolwide bake sale this Tuesday, January 14, 2020. Please send with your child a homemade food item or dessert or a store-bought item to sell at the bake sale(handmade is the best!). Homemade items count as two-parent service hours, and store-bought are one parent service hour. You can also earn parent service hours by helping out the day of the bake sale. Any hours worked from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm will count as one parent’s service hour per hour worked.
Let’s race toward good deeds and earn one of the greatest rewards imaginable, as Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) tells us about in the authentic hadith, ” I and the one who takes care for an orphan will be in Jannah like this” (and he raised his hand to show his index finger and middle finger side by side.
